Superb, very large oil on canvas, circa 1900, depicting a romantic scene in the French style, reminiscent of the 18th century. A lady plays the mandolin, accompanied by another lady who appears to be a friend, and is being admired by a young man in love, who offers her a flower, all set against a verdant and bucolic background. In beautiful condition and very decorative.
